The workshop of a master woodworker – a documentary presentation film.

Fa-Time Manufaktúra is the workshop of master woodworker Zoltán Németh: bespoke wooden gifts and everyday objects – figures, wall clocks, engraved tealight holders, marked with a branding iron. The brief was a short film that does not advertise, but shows.

A craft workshop does not need a marketing voice. What sells the object here is the hand that makes it – so the film is documentary: the master talks, the camera watches the work. Saw blade, wood shavings, flame, candlelight. 2 minutes 45 seconds, a single shoot day in the workshop, with natural light and one lamp.

The master

The spine of the film is a conversation: Zoltán says in his own words why wood, why by hand, and what it means to make an object someone keeps for a lifetime. Nothing read out, no rehearsed lines – the camera stays in one place, the noise of the workshop stays in the background. Authenticity here is not a style, it is part of the product.

The second layer is the work itself: how a drawn line becomes an object. Close-ups of the hands, the saw blade, the shavings – at a slow, attentive pace, because the viewer only believes in craftsmanship when they see the hand. The edit follows the master's rhythm; it does not rush him.

The third layer is the object: the bear family, the engraved tealight holder, the branding iron in the flame. These images give the film its ending and the web shop its visual language too – the same light, the same tone as in the workshop, so that the product and its maker look like one story.
